De pastechi tuna is one of the variants of the typical Antillean pasties. In this Pastechi has a nice tuna filling. Great for anyone who loves fish! With this recipe you can make about 20-25 small pastechi. In this recipe (+ video!) You will learn how to make the tuna filling and then the dough.

- 500 gr wheat flour
- 1 sachet of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1 beaten egg
- 200ml water
- 300 grams of finely chopped tuna (canned)
- Three tablespoons of oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tomato, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, pressed
- 1 red pepper, diced
- 6 tbsp raisins
- 6 finely chopped prunes
- 3 tablespoons of piccalilli
- Optionally a tablespoon of Pika (to taste)
PREPARATION PASTECHI TUNA:
Heat the oil over medium heat and fry the onion and the pepper in it until the onion is translucent.
Then add the tomato and tuna and fry for 5 minutes.
Now add the other ingredients and stir well.
Then remove the pan from the heat and let the filling cool until it is cold enough to work with.
Then put all the ingredients for the dough, except the egg and water, in a bowl and mix well with a spoon.
Now add the egg and then add the water little by little to get a nice dough. (you can add a little more water)
Knead the dough for about 5 minutes
Now roll out the dough until it is about 3mm thick.
Then cut out circles with a large glass or small bowl and fill with a full teaspoon of the filling *
Then brush the edges of the circle with some water and fold the dough in half
Then press the edges well with a fork
Fry the pastechi then in oil at about 175 degrees until golden – Enjoy your meal!
