Caribbean macaroni pie

This hearty macaroni pie is the basis of a nutritious meal. After baking in the oven, you can cut and serve it like a real cake.

With meat, cheese and eggs you can be sure that it tastes delicious and fills well. Combine the macaroni pie with a salad or stewed spinach for a complete meal.

A meal in itself

You make the macaroni pie in a 26-28 centimeter baking tin. When you cut it into points, it's actually a meal in itself. With some vegetables you can even make it a handy takeaway meal. Great for when you travel: it takes up little space, but is very filling! You make about 6-8 servings of this recipe, depending on how hungry you are.


  • 500 grams of macaroni
  • 250 grams of grated cheese
  • 500 grams of chicken fillet
  • 100 grams of ham cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 bell peppers, diced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Madame Jeanette pepper (to taste!)

Macaroni pie preparation:

Cut the chicken into strips and fry in 2 tablespoons olive oil in a frying pan until they turn brown.

Add the Worcestershire sauce, onion and bell pepper and cook gently for 5 minutes.

add the madame jeanette pepper and the ham cubes and simmer for another 5 minutes.

Cook the macaroni according to the instructions.

When cooked, rinse with cold water to avoid sticking.

Mix the macaroni and chicken / vegetable mixture in a bowl.

Add the eggs and half of the grated cheese and stir well again.

Butter a baking tin and add the macaroni mixture

Divide the other half of the grated cheese over the macaroni.

Bake in the oven at 1 degrees for about 175 hour (or until the eggs have set).
