Kadushi Daiquiri (cactus & rum cocktail)

In our new YouTube series 'Fridays with Sir Eddy' we get a delicious cocktail recipe every week from our own mixologist Eddy Trenidad. In the first episode, Eddy shows us how to make a delicious cocktail from Bonairean Cactus (kadushi) liqueur, namely the Kadushi Daiquiri.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 50 ml (Marlin Spike) rum
  • 25 ml Kadushi liqueur *
  • 25 ml lime juice
  • 20 ml of sugar syrup
  • ice cubes, to cool
  • blackberries / raspberries, for decoration

* Kadushi liqueur is used up Bonaire made and is available at Aruba, Bonaire Curaçao and at some specialty stores in the Netherlands. Can't find it? Then replace it with St. Germain Elderflower liqueur or, for example, a tasty lychee liqueur.

PREPARATION KADUSHI DAIQUIRI:

Start by making the sugar syrup: for this you mix 100 gr sugar with 100 ml water. Let it cook for a few minutes until it has thickened slightly. You need about 20 ml of syrup for this recipe.

Then squeeze a lime. We use 25 ml of the lime juice.

Take a cocktail shaker and add the rum, the liqueur, the lime juice and the syrup. Fill the shaker completely with ice.



Make the Kadushi Daiquiri by shaking vigorously for about a minute. Pour the cocktail through a strainer into a chilled glass.

Decorate the kadushi daiquiri with some blackberries or raspberries (on a stick)
