Johnny Cakes with cod

This recipe is for the cod that is on the Johnny Cakes goes. It is enough for 6-8 servings.

Ingredients:

  • 600 gr cod fillet
  • 2 tomatoes, cubed
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • a heaping teaspoon of tomato paste
  • 1 tsp masala
  • 2 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 sprig of celery, finely chopped

Preparation Johnny Cakes with cod

Soak the cod in plenty of water for at least 6 hours, or boil it for 30 minutes. Let the fish drain. Maak's Johnny Cakes according to our recipe.



Heat the sunflower oil over medium heat and fry the onion, bell pepper and tomato for a few minutes. Add the cod and chop the fish with a spatula. Bake for a few minutes until the cod is cooked through.



Now add the soy sauce, tomato paste, masala and celery and stir well.

Does the cod become too dry during baking? Then add a few tablespoons of water.

Bake the fish in this way for 10-12 minutes until soft and cooked through. Cut the Johnny Cakes open and fill them with the cod. Enjoy your meal!
