Brigadeiros – Recipe for Brazilian chocolate bonbons

door Linda Terrizzi

Brigadeiros are delicious Brazilian chocolate truffles. You make them with only 4 ingredients and they are absolutely “fool proof”. A wonderfully simple recipe, but with a very tasty result!

Brazilian or Antillean?

Just to clarify: I am aware that Brazil is not one of the Antillean islands ;) – But the taste of Brazilian delicacies comes very close to our 'kos dushi'. And the brigadeiros are an absolute asset to our repertoire.

Make these little treats for parties, treats… or just like that, with coffee!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 can (397 ml) of sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 20 gr butter
  • sprinkles, flakes or sprinkles to decorate

PREPARATION BRIGADEIROS:

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Note: the butter should NOT turn brown! Now add the contents of the condensed milk can and stir well.

Finally add the cocoa powder and stir until there are no lumps in the mixture. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes.

You now notice that the mixture is a lot thicker than before. Pour the mixture into a bowl and let it cool in there. When the contents of the bowl have reached room temperature, you can turn the mixture into balls.

  • Tip: apply a small amount of oil to your hands to make rolling easier.
  • Tip: Is the mixture still too soft to make balls? Then put it in the fridge.

Finally roll the balls through the sprinkles and let them set further in the refrigerator.

At the last step, vary with flakes, sprinkles, chocolate balls or other small candies instead of the sprinkles. Enjoy your meal!

Also try

Instead of the traditional mixture of cocoa and condensed milk, you can use a leftover filling of the bolo di cashupete use. If you first cool these in advance, you can also make fine balls and roll them through the sprinkles!
