Wayne's veggie burger

Wayne's vegetable burger is really different from the vegetarian burgers from the store.

You can make this delicious, vegetarian burger completely 'from scratch'. Due to the large amount of vegetables in it, you immediately get a good dose of vitamins. It is not heavy, and therefore extra suitable to eat with a tasty sandwich.



Wayne finishes his veggie burger with sauce, fried onions, and a slice of cheese. But of course you can vary with this yourself. Almost any sauce goes with the burger… that's a huge advantage!

Wayne's Veggie Burger Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200 gr broccoli
  • 200 gr green asparagus
  • 150 gr corn
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • 2 roots
  • 100 gr mushrooms
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 gr wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • (olive) oil for baking

    And further:
  • 4 soft white rolls
  • 4 slices of processed cheese (cheddar)
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • mayonnaise and / or ketchup
  • fried onions (bawang goreng)

Preparation of Wayne's Vegetable Burger

Cut the bottom, woody pieces off the asparagus (about 1 centimeter) and cook the asparagus until al dente. Then place the asparagus in a bowl of cold water.

When they have cooled, you can cut the asparagus into pieces of about 1 centimeter. Peel the carrots and grate them coarsely. Then cut the
mushrooms, the onion, the pepper and the broccoli in small pieces. Squeeze the garlic cloves and add all the vegetables to the asparagus.

Now add the eggs, together with the wheat flour, the salt and the pepper and mix all the ingredients until thick.

Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry 2 tablespoons of the batter into a large vegetable burger. Invert the burgers several times until both sides turn golden brown.



Cut the rolls open and spread them with the mayonnaise and ketchup. Place a vegetable burger, a slice of cheese and a slice of tomato on each sandwich.

Sprinkle the whole with fried onions and place the top half of the bun on top.

Tip: if the sandwich with the burger is too thick to stand, put a cocktail stick in it!
