This is probably the simplest recipe on our site. Still, well-made cucumbers are an indispensable addition to almost any meal, and the acid in the cucumbers breaks down the fat from the other things on your plate. And it is also super tasteful!
Make these cucumbers at least a day before you want to eat them, so that all flavors can work well.
- 2 cucumbers, sliced
- 100ml. distilled vinegar
- 300ml. water
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 10 allspice berries
- 5 cloves
- 1 Madame Jeanette pepper
Wash the cucumbers well and cut them into slices.
Place the cucumber slices in a large bowl.
Boil the water together with the salt and sugar. After the salt and sugar have dissolved, you can let the water cool.
Add the vinegar to the water.
Pour this mixture over the cucumbers.
Now also add the allspice berries and cloves.
Finally add the chopped Madame Jeanette pepper.
tip: For a nice, yellow color, you can add 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric to the water.
Leave the cucumbers in the refrigerator for at least a day.
