Jerk chicken wings are chicken wings flavored with a delicious spice mixture. This - originally Jamaican - way of preparing chicken could just be the most delicious.
The classic 'jerk' spices make the chicken wings really irresistible. Normally we prepare the jerk chicken on the barbecue, but if the weather does not allow it, you can also bake them in an oven. You need a long list of herbs and spices for the recipe… and these are what make the chicken wings so delicious.
The secret of this recipe is of course in the marinade. This includes flavoring vegetables such as onion and garlic. In addition, a whole range of spices passes by. For example, think of pepper, thyme and cumin. We also use less obvious spices such as pimento and cinnamon for the marinade.
By leaving the chicken in the marinade for a long time (preferably overnight!), The flavors can absorb well and your jerk chicken wings will be the best ever.
