Mankaron – Antillean coconut macaroons

door Linda Terrizzi

Almost every country in the world has some form of these cookies. The Antilleans, however, continue to insist that they are the 'real' inventors of the Mankaron. And well, maybe they really taste the best in the Antilles…. With our recipe you make about 20 mankarons.

Two versions

You will find 2 versions of the mankaron on our website: this version most resembles small (Dutch) coconut macaroons. For the mankaron you make in a cake tin, click here!

Tips for preparation

When preparing mankaron, it is important that your dough is ultimately the right thickness. Of course you don't want the cookies to run out during baking. If you keep our recipe, the result is guaranteed to be perfect! The limping carons then become beautiful, golden brown on the outside and remain nice and soft and a bit sticky on the inside.

Tip: Love macaroons, but prefer gluten-free? Check out the recipe for our Coconut kisses!
