On October 14 we can offer you this (for the time being) one-off masterclass 'Caribbean High Tea'. A whole day of cooking, baking, tasting and enjoying the tastiest Caribbean snacks… some very traditional and others with their own twist.

What can you expect:

You work in a large, professional studio in Hilversum. There is enough space for the group of 20 people. Everyone has their own workbench with dishes and materials.

Everyone makes in this master class ANY COURT from the menu itself. We work as a class: the cook and pastry chef show you how to prepare the dish and you imitate it immediately. So it will be a day with 'live/synchronous cooking'. This way we can teach you a lot in just 5 hours! Although the pace is high, we think it is feasible for everyone to prepare the dishes to cook 'live'. So you don't have to be an advanced chef to participate.

You get this day lesson of 2 people: Chef Jurino Ignacio and pastry chef Sharon de Graav. They each have their own field of expertise and will ensure that you get all the tricks of the trade for these dishes! In addition, there is always someone available to offer help where necessary. At the end of the day you will receive a certificate of participation, a reference book with all recipes and a well-filled box with a Caribbean high tea for 2 people!

Why 'master class'?

We have chosen the name 'masterclass' and not just 'workshop', because the structure of the day looks different than you are used to from a workshop: NOT worked in groups, but everyone gets their own workbench with all the necessary ingredients and materials for the dishes. At the end of the day you have made all 10 dishes of the Caribbean High Tea yourself.

We also do not work according to the principle of “first explanation, then execution” – with us you cook directly with the cook or pastry chef. So live! This way we get the most out of the time we have.

Savory snacks

We start the day at 10:30 am with some savory dishes. You learn the classic Antillean 'pastechi', but also healthy treats such as sour goods. You make cheese balls right away special sauce and to top it off you get our secret recipe for “pulled chicken sandwich wraps".

Having lunch

At 13:15 a tasty, extensive lunch is planned, some of which dishes are prepared by you during the masterclass. So nice and fresh! Although the lunch consists of a lot of goodies, we 'only' set aside 30 minutes for it… of course we have to get back to the sweet part of the day quickly

Special sweet snacks

After lunch we start with the sweet dishes. Among other things, you will get the secret of the traditional plum tarts and you will learn a red velvet cupcake with a beautiful topping. In addition, we give you the secret of our special “cashew and roses petit fours“, a modern version of the Antillean “bolo di cashupete”. This is guaranteed to steal the show!

Box with high tea for 2

You go home with a well-stocked box containing a complete Caribbean high tea for 2 people. You can choose whether you want to take the fried snacks baked or frozen. This way you can organize a nice high tea at home on Saturday or Sunday.

more than 20 days in advance: FREE
20-15 days in advance: 25% of the price
15-10 days in advance: 50% of the price
10-5 days in advance: 75% of the price
less than 5 days in advance: 90% of the price
