Bolo di chukulati – chocolate cake

The traditional Antillean 'bolo di chukulati' is a mighty chocolate cake for those who really love the pure taste of chocolate.

We use almost 300 grams of dark chocolate for this recipe for a deep, rich taste. The frosting is also rich in taste and gives it a nice shine.



With or without alcohol

Most people choose to make the cake bolo trem di chukulati with liqueur. This keeps the cake nice and moist and gives you an extra dimension of taste. Suitable drinks for this cake include rum, tia Maria or other coffee liqueur.

You can make the trempe syrup yourself using the recipe on our website.

If you want you can bolo di chukulati even more garnish with glacé cherries or chopped nuts. But let's be honest, he's delicious on his own.

INGREDIENTS

In addition to (of course!) chocolate and cocoa, this cake also contains butter and powdered sugar. With a little corn syrup you make the frosting extra nice and shiny.



De bolo By the way, di chukulati is best when you spread some (homemade) tremper liqueur over the cake layers. This way the cake does not dry and it gets an extra taste of the liqueur.
